Part-Time Lecturers in Asian American Studies

The Department of Asian American Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara invites applications for part time Lecturers for the summer 2019 and the 2019-2020 academic year. A Master’s Degree in Asian American Studies or related field is a minimum requirement. However, candidates with a Ph.D. or ABD in Asian American Studies or related field (or equivalent degree) are preferred. In addition, at least one year of teaching experience is required.

Successful candidates will be hired to teach one or two courses listed in the Department’s current curricular offerings. We are especially interested in candidates who can teach queer studies, popular culture, transnationalism, environmental justice, communities, ethnographies, visual culture, and mental health from an Asian American studies perspective. Candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service are particularly encouraged to apply.
