Jess X.Snow: Arts Residency

The Department of Asian American Studies at UCSB proudly presents our inaugural Artist-in-Residence. Jess X. Snow (they/them/他) is a non-binary filmmaker, multi-disciplinary artist and muralist, poet and cultural organizer. 

 
Jess’s weeklong arts residency (April 18-24) will include:  
 
A. A Carsey-Wolf Center film screening, “to become the sky: An Evening with Jess X. Snow,” Thursday, April 18, at 7 pm, at the Pollock Theater. Featuring four of Jess’s short films, followed by a post-screening discussion moderated by Professor Heidi Amin-Hong. Co-sponsored by the Center for Feminist Futures and Asian American Studies. The event is free and open to the public. 
 
B. Two Art-for-Activism workshops. Workshop I: Poster Making and Zines.   Workshop II: Art Builds and Mural. For more on the workshops, see here.
 
C. A special event with Asian American Studies majors and minors organized by ASAM Peer Advisors Paris Wu, Julia York, and Cailey Larmore.
