About Center for South Asian American Studies
Co-founded and co-directed by Professors Jigna Desai and Sameer Pandya (Department of Asian American Studies), the Center for South Asian American Studies (CSAAS) is the first national academic research center dedicated to promoting South Asian American Studies research, teaching, and public engagement. CSAAS supports emergent scholars and scholarship, facilitates community-engaged learning, and ultimately sits at the helm of sustaining a collaborative South Asian American Studies network across the nation. Supported by a generous, multi-year grant from the Mellon Foundation, CSAAS fosters and promotes scholarship and develops pedagogical resources.
